Our Approach
Considered Advice for Consequential Decisions
A second citizenship or residency is one of the most significant steps a family can take. We treat it that way.
Who We Are
An advisory practice, not a sales desk
Citizenship & Co. exists to give families clear, honest guidance through the world of investment migration — a field crowded with inflated promises and commission-driven advice.
We serve entrepreneurs, investors, and families who are making one of the most consequential decisions of their lives: where their family belongs, travels, and builds. That decision deserves an advisor whose incentives point the same way as yours.
These are the commitments every engagement is built on — in our own words, in writing, from the first conversation.
We are independent of every government, developer, and fund we work with. Our only incentive is recommending the pathway that genuinely fits your goals — and telling you plainly when one doesn't.
Independence
Our founding principle· Citizenship & Co.
If a program is wrong for your family, we say so — even when that costs us the engagement. A candid no today is worth more than a failed application next year.
Candor
How we advise· Citizenship & Co.
Your file is prepared to the standard government reviewers actually apply — source-of-funds documented, ambiguities resolved — before submission, not after questions come back.
Precision
How we execute· Citizenship & Co.
One dedicated advisor knows your family's file from the first conversation to documents in hand — and still answers the phone for renewals years later.
Continuity
How we support· Citizenship & Co.
Who You Deal With
The advisors behind the advice
One dedicated advisor stays with you from the first conversation to documents in hand. These are the people who do that work.

The Question Everyone Asks
What you will actually pay
Most firms quote one number and reveal the rest later. There are three separate buckets, and only one of them is ours. Select any bucket to see what sits inside it.
Widths illustrate relative scale, not a quote — every programme differs. Only the smallest of the three is ours.
Government cost
The qualifying investment itself, plus the government's own processing and certificate fees. This is the largest part of every budget and none of it is ours — it goes to the issuing state, on its published schedule.
- A contribution, property purchase, fund subscription, or deposit, depending on the route
- Government application and processing fees, per applicant
- Passport, certificate, and registration charges on approval
Note: Set by the issuing government and subject to change without notice.
The Difference
What working with us looks like
Government-authorized programs only
We advise exclusively on official, legislated programs — never grey-market shortcuts. Every pathway we recommend is grounded in the issuing country's law.
Absolute discretion
Privacy is our highest priority. Your information is shared only with the government units and counsel who must see it, and no one else.
Transparent fees
One engagement letter, one fee schedule, no surprises. Government costs are always quoted separately so you can see exactly where every dollar goes.
End-to-end guidance
From the first conversation to passports or residence cards in hand, you work with one dedicated point of contact who manages every step.
Candor, Demonstrated
The times we say no
Any firm can claim it gives honest advice. These are the actual answers we give when the honest answer costs us the engagement.
Our answer
Then investment migration is the wrong instrument, and we will say so in the first call. No European programme grants citizenship in a year. Portugal's naturalisation clock moved to seven years for Portuguese-speaking nationals and ten for everyone else in 2026, and it requires genuine residence. What we can arrange within a year is European residence — a different, real, and often better answer.
Before You Are Asked
What government due diligence actually checks
Applications fail on preparation, not on merit. This is what reviewers examine — and what we resolve before your file is submitted, rather than after questions come back.
Identity & history
Who you are, verified independently — not merely as stated on the form.
- Passports and national identity records, checked against issuing authorities
- Residential history, often across every country lived in for the past decade
- Name variations, transliterations, and prior legal names
How We Work
Four principles, every engagement
- 01
Listen first
Every family's goals are different — mobility, security, tax planning, education. We start by understanding yours before recommending anything.
- 02
Advise candidly
Every program has trade-offs. We put them on the table — costs, timelines, obligations, and risks — so your decision is fully informed.
- 03
Execute precisely
Applications succeed on preparation. We assemble, verify, and submit every document to the standard government due diligence expects.
- 04
Stay with you
Approval is not the end. We support renewals, passport logistics, and any follow-on planning your new status makes possible.
The Engagement
What actually happens, week by week
Select a stage to see what we do, what we need from you, and what you receive.
Week 0
Consultation
- What we do
- We listen, map your goals against real programme parameters, and give a candid view — including whether to proceed at all.
- What we need
- An hour, and a frank account of your situation.
- What you receive
- A shortlist with trade-offs stated, or an honest recommendation not to proceed. No cost, no obligation.
Independence, In Practice
How we are paid — and how others are
In this industry a great deal of advice is paid for by the developer or fund it recommends. That is legal, common, and rarely disclosed. It is also why two advisors can look at the same family and reach opposite conclusions.
We charge the client a fee stated in the engagement letter, and nothing else. If a recommendation would earn us more, that fact does not exist in our model — so it cannot quietly shape the advice.
Common in the industry
The advisor is paid a commission by the developer, fund, or government agent whose programme is recommended.
→ The cheapest option for you may be the least profitable for them.
Our model
A single advisory fee, agreed in writing before work begins. Government and due-diligence costs are passed through at cost, itemised.
→ Recommending the cheaper programme costs us nothing.
Working With Us
Questions clients ask before engaging
How are you paid, and are you independent?
By you, through a fee stated in the engagement letter before any work begins. We hold no commission arrangements with developers, funds, or government agents, so the pathway we recommend has no bearing on what we earn.
What happens if my application is refused?
Refusals are rare on well-prepared files, which is why we resolve source-of-funds questions and disclosure issues before submission rather than after. Where a government fee is non-refundable we say so in writing before you pay it, and we tell you honestly if we think a file is not yet ready to submit.
Will you tell me if I should not proceed?
Yes, and we do. If investment migration is not the right instrument for your goal, or your budget does not reach a programme that suits you, the consultation ends with that answer rather than a proposal.
Who will I actually be dealing with?
One advisor, from the first conversation to documents in hand — and the same person for renewals years later. You will not be handed to an account manager after signing.
How is my information protected?
Your file is shared only with the government unit processing it and any counsel that jurisdiction requires. We do not sell, rent, or share enquiry data, and we do not discuss clients — including the fact that someone is a client.
